The 2015 TAGT Parent Group of the Gifted is the Katy Parents of Gifted and Talented (KPGT). This parent support group has served the gifted and talented population of Katy ISD for 28 years. Their mission is to support G/T students by empowering and providing families and educators with information, resources, tools and a voice. KPGT frequently hosts speakers, student events, workshops and field trips. These activities range from small, intimate functions to elaborate events for hundreds of students and families. Additionally, KPGT hosts an annual School Board Candidate Forum as a community event for all Katy voters and has partnered with Katy ISD to offer a week long camp with Camp Invention to identified elementary gifted students. KPGT members sit on many committees and parent panels throughout the district and serve together to be a voice for Katy’s gifted and talented population.
Recognized by the KISD Board of Trustees in acknowledgement of being awarded the 2015 Parent Group of the Gifted by the Texas Association of the Gifted and Talented.
